Plotwise is an independent online service. You can reach us using our contact form.
What we collect
- Postcode and house number or name, to run your planning check. We don't store these for free checks.
- Payment details, handled entirely by Stripe. We never see or store your card number. Stripe shares your email and the postcode you paid for with us.
- Quote requests: your name, email, phone (optional), address and project details.
- Waiting list: your email and postcode.
- Contact form messages: your name, email and message, used only to reply to you.
- Professionals asking to join our network: name, business name, contact details, website and the areas you cover.
How we use it and our legal basis
- To provide the report you paid for (contract).
- To pass quote requests to up to 3 local professionals, only with your consent. Professionals may pay us a fee for each introduction. You can withdraw consent at any time by emailing us.
- To email you once when we cover your area, with your consent.
- To contact professionals about joining our network, with their consent.
- To keep financial records as the law requires (legal obligation).
Who we share it with
Stripe (payments), Resend (email delivery), Vercel (website hosting) and, for quote requests, the professionals you agreed to be contacted by. [LIST ANY OTHERS]
How long we keep it

Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your data, or object to how we use it, by contacting us (contact form). You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Cookies
This site doesn't use tracking or advertising cookies, and our fonts are hosted on our own site, so your visit isn't shared with font providers. Stripe sets its own cookies on its payment page to keep payments secure.
The Ask Plotwise assistant
If you use the "Ask Plotwise" chat, your questions are sent to Anthropic, which provides the AI that writes the answers. We don't store your conversations, and we ask you not to include personal details. Answers are general guidance, not professional advice.
Planning records
Our reports show information that councils publish in public planning registers. We show site addresses and proposals, not applicants' names.
